Dr. Andy Shumway (D.D.S.)

I graduated from Westwood High School where I participated in the orchestra (trumpet) and sports (basketball). Our basketball team was State runner up my senior year. I received many awards and honors including Player of the Year for the State of Arizona and being recognized by Coach and Athlete Magazine as an All American.
Following high school, I attended Mesa Community College for a year before serving a two year mission for my church in Denmark. I eventually graduated from ASU with a BA in Chemistry. A few years later, I graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas with a DDS degree.

Dr. Joel Shumway (D.D.S.)

I was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. I graduated from Mesa High School. Following high school, I attended Brigham Young University for one year.
After my first year at BYU, I served a mission in Ecuador for two years. I was able to learn Spanish while in Ecuador, which I still speak to this day.
After my mission, I graduated from BYU majoring in Business Administration in 2002. After graduation, I started dental school at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. My wife and I loved living in San Francisco and met many wonderful people while in dental school.

Dr. Tyler Shumway

Dr. Tyler Shumway was born and raised in Mesa, AZ. After graduating from Mesa High School, he attended Brigham Young University where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science, and then he attended The University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco.
Following dental school, Tyler worked as a dentist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD.
In 2015 Tyler moved back to Arizona and started working at Shumway Dental Care. He has greatly enjoyed working with his father, Dr. Andy, and his brother, Dr. Joel, as well as the entire staff at Shumway Dental Care.

We understand that the ability to pay is important to our dental patients and so offer a number of payment options.
We are happy to discuss payment plans with you in private, and help you determine the best plan.

  • We accept most dental insurance plans, and will file claims as a courtesy; any fees not covered by insurance are due at each visit.
  • Payment is due at each appointment; we accept cash, checks and most major credit cards.
  • We also offer the CareCredit Payment Plan so you can pay over a 12 month period interest free.
